The mill is located near the center of the 3,400 Ha
site, approximately 2 km from the shoreline of Berau's Sungai
river. This location was selected to take advantage of four
important considerations :
Available "Conversion Forest"
concessions
Permanently availability of clean process water
Deep water port for shipping
Suitable topography for construction
The nearest town (capital of the District) is Tanjung
Redeb which is located 40 km by river Northwest of the
site. The nearest large city, Samarinda, is
290 km to the South.
Access to the site is by boat, road and plane. The on
site airstrip is used for selective air service and emergency
access.
